Georgian-born Ukrainian judoka, Merited Master of Sports, the first and only judo world champion in the history of Ukraine, Heorhiy Zantaraya, became the ambassador of the 1+1 media group project "Sports Front". This is a large-scale communication campaign, the purpose of which is to boycott Russian and Belarusian national teams and clubs and athletes who spoke out "for the war" or did not make statements about it, and comprehensive support for Ukrainian sports.
Before the shooting, which took place on the territory of the "Avanhard" sports complex destroyed by a Russian missile, Heorhiy officially stated that he would renounce all his titles in case of admission of Russians and Belarusians to the competition. In the video, the world champion appealed to his fellow athletes and all concerned with a request to support the boycott of Russian and Belarusian athletes while the war in Ukraine continues.
