Sam Bankman Fried had the highest proportional losses of any of the billionaires in the top 500. He lost 100% of his fortune that was once estimated at over 22 billion dollars when his fraudulent crypto scheme unravelled spectacularly.
Zuckerberg’s fortune also took a hit after Facebook (or maybe I should say Meta) discovered that nobody wants to hang out with mark in virtual reality. The Zucks net worth dropped by more than 100 billion dollars which is a loss of approximately one whole warren buffet.
But that’s nothing on Elon Musk who became the first person in history to lose 200 billion dollars. Elon took out large loans backed by his tesla shares to complete his purchase of Twitter and with falling share prices he now runs the risk of being margin called and having these historic losses locked in.
