This troubled child had been left from the previous year. He was asked to repeat the same grade. When the teacher first met him, he was wearing a hat. He refused to let anyone touch him or remove his hat.
Knowing he wasn't given breakfast at home, the teacher started bringing him breakfasts. When he said he wanted sweets, the teacher would make sure to include it for him.
Knowing his family couldn't afford new shoes she bought him one pair along with socks. But she doesn't want him to feel embarrassed so she gave it to him under the disguise of an award. Other students even clapped for him.
Slowly, his self esteem began to grow. And he started bringing teacher gifts. They aren't expensive gifts but the teacher accepted them anyway. When the teacher held a class party he made the milk tea and gave it to her instead.
A lot of troubled kids are just misunderstood. They aren't treated well at home and desperately need an adult to make them feel loved. It's amazing how fast he improved. He started making new friends, his confidence grew, his grades improved. Let's hope all teachers are like this with their troubled students.
