It feels good to be back.

This was by far the quickest song I've ever done. The soundtrack was only released on Friday the 16th, and I was busy during the day so I started on Friday night, by Saturday night I had the final recordings done. I recorded and edited the video on Sunday, and made final tweaks to the song, so it took me 2 days total, that is my personal record. It does kinda show what you can do if you really put your mind to it and just focus on the task that you're doing, not getting sidetracked or distracted.

I hope you all like the new room, I uploaded the timelapse of it so you can have a look at that to see how I painted it. I'm still figuring camera angles and where to put my lights for the best video quality, I'm slowly learning what does and doesn't work.

We saw Black Panther on Valentines Day, I thought it was pretty awesome, the whole world building of Wakanda was great and the atmosphere was spot on. I also think Kilmonger was a great villain, the reasoning behind his actions were completely valid.

The soundtrack by Ludwig Goransson was one of the highlights for me. While searching for the soundtrack before it came out, I found that Ludwig spend months in Africa getting immersed in the culture in order to make an accurate portrayal of the African sounds and rhythms. In this song you can hear the strange off, seemingly off beat, rhythm. The whole song operates on 8th note triplets, but at the end of the measure it changes to plain 16th notes, which gives it a strange feeling, but it was definitely something that piqued my interest when hearing it during the movie. I made my own arrangement featuring 3 songs from the soundtrack, namely, Wakanda, Waterfall Fight and the End Titles.
