Why is the customer "always right"? Well, maybe they're not.
In fact, this phrase was invented by Marshall Field when he opened the first department store back in the late 1800s. Basically, it means that the customer needs to leave happy, no matter what.
Anyone who has worked in customer service before knows that this is bullsh*t, but it doesn't mean striving to do our best should go out the window.
We can't make everyone happy 100% of the time, but we can try.
