Here are the pros and cons of having a restaurant in a big city.
Pros:
1. Walking traffic is huge for restaurants, so the more people you have walking by, the better advantage you'll have.
2. Urban areas are more diverse, naturally, so there are a lot of options to play around with cultural favors and incorporate them into your menu.
Cons:
1. Mediocrity is not going to cut it when there are so many better options for people to choose from.
I honestly think that if you can make it in Detroit, you can make it anywhere. Most of restaurants in this city are exceptional, so if you're doing well, you're beating out a lot of competition.
