After releasing on labels such as Top Billin and Play Me Records, a huge response to his ReHatched bootleg series (including covers of Rüfüs’s Sundream and the Duke Dumont hit Need U 100%) and playing support slots to Kilter on his recent Australian tour - Hatch emerges as one of the most diverse and emotive young producers in Australia today. Now entering a new phase of creative output Hatch delivers “New Direction” - a slow jam that sounds like the lovechild of Teddy Riley & Paula Abdul after spending a night together in a time-machine in the year 2500.
Featuring the artist himself on vocals (sounding not unlike Beck in his “Midnight Vultures” phase) “New Direction” is a sublime slice of nouveau futuristic R&B combining Hatch’s classical training with a bass-heavy dance-floor aesthetic.
Remixes come from Triple J endorsed GRMM and newcomer UV Boi (winner of inthemix50 Breakthrough Artist Award) who both deliver body-grinding bass club versions.
