
Krestovsky Island is a small island in Saint Petersburg situated between several tributaries of the Neva River. The island is served by two stations of Saint Petersburg Metro. A new retractable roof stadium, Gazprom Arena was built on the island in 2016. The stadium serves as home for Football Club Zenit Saint Petersburg. The eastern part of Krestovsky island has seen steady urbanization since the early 1900s.
