Words travel fast in small villages. When he said he wanted to be a firefighter, villagers also already knew that he didn't finish school. In fact, he barely made it past grade 3.
They look down on him, it's just an impossible dream for him anyway. But they didn't know that he already helped put out 146 fires by himself. Sometimes he got there before firefighters did. In fact, he spent all his spare time practicing how to put out fires.
He was completedly self taught. He learned how to be a firefighter from reading books, taking notes, and even buy equipments with his own money. His real job is a security guard, a job that he sometimes skip to help put out fires. He put out 3 fires on a single day one time.
Even though he receives no praises, no recognition, and no compensation, he didn't mind. He only wants to help people. Let's hope the fire department recognize him and officially offer him a job that pays so he gets to do what he loves.
