The Philippines was hit by six tropical storms this month alone, causing widespread damage, killing at least 171 people and displacing thousands. This year so far, the Southeast Asian nation has been struck by more than a dozen cyclones. Activists from the Philippines attending the United Nations-led climate summit COP29 highlighted that not enough is being done to address the problem.
