Beat in time with the directed actions to the music. This is in 6/8 time which means 6 quavers in every bar. The 6 means how many and the 8 means quaver time. So 12/8 would mean 12 quavers in every bar.

Rhythmically speaking you are working in the world of quavers when in 6/8! So when you come across the dotted crotchet, this is one long sound of three quavers added together.

Definitely more suitable for KS2 onwards in terms of understanding the theory but can still be played with KS1 by following symbols and sound.
