The steps involved are in the following order : Occlusal reduction, Buccal surface reduction, Proximal surface reduction, Lingual surface reduction, final finishing of the prepared tooth.

Although this tutorial is for metal free crowns, the basic technique and steps involved remain the same and can be applied for any other crown type as well. The only difference is the amount of reduction that is done and the margin configuration.
