A precise crown preparation / tooth preparation is necessary for the success and longevity of a dental crown. This is a short and and to-the-point video demonstrating tooth preparation for a mandibular premolar crown.
In this video, I walk you through the technique for a precise tooth preparation / crown preparation. Each step is explained in detail for better understanding. Numerous tips and tricks are mentioned to make crown preparation easy for beginners.
The steps involved are in the following order : Occlusal reduction, Buccal surface reduction, Proximal surface reduction, Lingual surface reduction, final finishing of the prepared tooth.

Tapered Round Bur - TR-13 (Mani)
Needle Point Bur - TC-11 (Mani)
Yellow Finishing Bur - TR-26EF (Mani)

Although this tutorial is for metal free crowns, the basic technique and steps involved remain the same and can be applied for any other crown type as well. The only difference is the amount of reduction that is done and the margin configuration.
