Every day at the Alaska State Fair we run demos of tough material with coarse and fine gold in it. Some is mixed gravel and dirt and some is beach sand. We like when people bring us new material to run. We screen some samples and don’t screen others. On occasion we add sapphires or sharks teeth to show just how easy it is to separate anything with a higher specific gravity than the gravel or dirt it is found in. On this day we ran unscreened Nikiski beach sand with loads of heavy black sand, rocks and sticks, and a bunch of super fine flour gold.
