Not much to say about this one, except this: When you're trying to get your sound together, every detail counts.
When is a shuffle groove sitting right in the pocket and when is it straining--and what makes the difference? (Hint: When I start singing in the third clip, I push too hard and the shuffle-pocket disappears.) Should a harmonica player sing into the vocal mic, or harp mic, or both?
It helps to have a second set of ears. Brandon Bailey was helping out here.
This was filmed by Tom Weston at Foxfire Ranch in Waterford, Mississippi in May 2012.
