a.k.a. alligator head
Pen and Ink on 11 x 14 Bristol Paper
This ink drawing had some challenges for me. I was using the small micro pen for this and thought I could manage a sort of misty cascade which inevitably turned into layers of scales and speckles. This is probably the biggest change from my original source material which is made from paint swirls/splatters but I think the changes still make sense with the imagery. The crow was a surprise as well, as with most of my work I see one thing in the beginning and then it changes as I go along. The crow I didn’t recognize until I was drawing the beak poking out from a mess of organic style weeds. Like he’s got a pile of greenery on his head. The other imagery you can decide for yourself but I see an acorn that looks like a swan tucked into his wing, a bubble profile face and at the bottom some flying mushrooms and an alligator head. Make of it what you will but it also changes on the angle you look at it and becomes completely different characters.
The music I made in GarageBand and iMovie.
