A early big-band jazz recording, made by the Benson Orchestra of Chicago, an group founded in 1920 by an impresario and cellist named Edgar A. Benson, and organized and leaded by the pianist and compositor Roy Bargy, who later recorded with one of the most popular musicians and band leader of the Roaring Twenties, Paul Whiteman. This song was recorded in April 15, 1921 for Victor Records (Victor Talking Machine) in Camdem, NJ.

The list of musicians who were in this recording is:

Alto and soprano sax: Matthew Amaturo.

Tenor sax: Thomas Thatcher.

Bass sax: William Foeste.

Clarinet: Matthew Amaturo.

Trombone: Guy Carey.

Trumpet: Rick Adkins.

Violin: Joe Baum.

Drums: Wlliam Foeste (reedman).

Piano and leader: Roy Bargy.

The interesting of this recording is the clarinet solo from the first minute to the second minute, made by the reed player Matthew Amaturo, who played the alto, soprano sax and clarinet in the band between 1920 to late 1921. This recording is also one of the first jazz recordings to feature the "stop-time" technique. The clarinet solo is also one of the first in the jazz history, preceding Larry Shield's solo in the classic ODJB's version "St. Louis Blues" from the same year, wFoesteho recorded one month after, in May 25, 1921. Multi-instrumentalist William Foeste (bass sax, drums, xylophone) , is who plays the bass sax and the percussion in "Na-Jo".
