So What Are The Closest Capital Cities?? Just looking at this map, you'll see that in Europe, Vienna and Bratislava, the capitals of Austria and Slovakia, are the closest ones, being just 50 kilometers away from each other.
Of course, many would argue that Rome and Vatican City are actually the closest ones, but the Vatican can't be considered a capital as it is a city-state.
In Asia, the capitals of the two Koreas, Seoul and Pyongyang, are the closest capitals, being just 192 kilometers apart. In South America, Buenos Aires and Montevideo, with 200 kilometers separating them, are the closest.
But the closest capitals in the world are located just 1.5 kilometers away from each other. They are located in the heart of Africa, Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, and Kinshasa,
