Late-breaker host, Dr Harriette Van Spall (McMaster University, CA) sits down with PI, Dr Robert J Mentz (Duke University of Medicine, US) to discuss the findings of the PARAGLIDE-HF trial (NCT03988634).The PARAGLIDE-HF aimed to evaluate the effects of sacubitril/valsartan compared to valsartan on changes in NT-proBNP, safety, and tolerability in HFpEF patients who have experienced a WHF event (HFpEF decompensation) and have been stabilized and initiated treatment within 30 days post-decompensation.
The results presented at Heart Failure 2023 provide additional evidence supporting the potential treatment benefits of Sac/Val in HF patients with EF less than 40%, particularly those with EF below normal.
