Here is a comprehensive chase of the UP LOA36R Valla Switcher from Santa Fe Springs to Brea, CA. This is a remote-controlled job, where train movement is made by the conductor and brakeman using an RC beltpack versus an engineer controlling from the cab.

We start off at its namesake yard of Valla, following it as it performs industrial switching in the Los Nietos/Santa Fe Springs area. Customers include Vasoline on a former BNSF branch, Phibro-Tech, Northstar Chemical, and Airgas.

Once its Valla area work is complete, the local heads east, making its once-a-week run to Pacific Plastics down the Brea-Chem Industrial Lead at the end of the line in Brea, CA. With its Break work complete, the train returns to Valla Yard to store its cars and tie down its power.

This local serves several customers, allowing for many opportunities to see this train throughout its work. Veteran GP15-1 UPY 595 and GP60 UP 1083, both in the old UP paint scheme, serve as power for this local. Thanks for watching!
