This mix is all about creating the feeling of dinner time, beach-side in Latin America. The sun is setting and you may be eating, slow dancing or even taking in the views of your beautiful surroundings. I wanted this mix to appeal to many different ages of people who appreciate music spanning from the 1960s until today. Expect soft and silky samba, groovy psychedelia and raw cumbia - the ingredients for a good time! I hope you enjoy the mix just as much as I curated it with all this in mind!

Sherief El-Shazly aka DJ Zafeer is a London-based DJ, promoter, and avid record collector with a deep passion for global sounds and underground club music. His sets weave together rhythms and melodies from different eras and cultures, creating a groove that transcends borders. Driven by a love for storytelling through music, Sherief believes music can unlock a deeper understanding of cultures, history and ultimately each-other!

Beyond DJing, Sherief is the founder of KULA Collective Events, a live music and multi-arts event series that brings together poetry, live performances, DJs, and visual artists under one roof. KULA has showcased bands and musicians drawing from Latin American, African, Middle Eastern, and underground jazz traditions, fostering a vibrant and inclusive dancefloor experience.

He also co-runs Wiggle Room, a London club night that recreates the magic of intimate house parties in unexpected spaces. With living room furniture, quirky decor, live instruments, snacks, and a powerful sound system, Wiggle Room delivers a nostalgic, high-energy atmosphere where music and community come first.

Whether behind the decks or curating events, Sherief is dedicated to bringing people and communities together!
