Learning how to use EQ's effectively really does enhance your mixes and make transitions more seamless. This matters in all transitions to allow the elements of the incoming track to have maximum impact! Here's an excerpt and breakdown from my latest mix - also showing how to change the pace, as I'm using a pretty hard powerful tune and going into something softer / more melodic. When I started playing vinyl again in 2017, I really wanted to make it sound as smooth as possible - like digital but with the qualities of vinyl.
You can mix up transition techniques and do what feels right at the time also. This is what I do and think in the moment, let the most important elements shine through. Develop your own style! I am self taught and I guess I have my own style, I've watched and listened to so many djs and practiced like crazy. Any comments and questions, let me know @djmumma
