Kacper Pieta is a Polish selector currently based in Manchester, UK. He hosts a bi-monthly radio show, ‘Hidden Gems’ on Radio Flouka and works as head of booking at NAM bringing some of the city’s finest selectors to the venue along with top DJs from across the globe. Kacper’s DJ sets pulsate with the rhythms of Jazz Funk and Japanese City Pop, Brazilian Disco and Soul. The core of Kacper’s selections is the act bringing people together, dancing the night away and leaving at the end of the night with a big smile on your face.

For this episode, I have carefully handpicked a selection of music from Poland, Czechia, Australia and Japan. These tracks represent my journey with music so far. As I was born in Poland, I wanted to showcase a little bit of my heritage, selecting my favourite upbeat, jazzy tracks from artists like Michal Urbaniak. After spending a small portion of my life in Australia, I fell in love with the music and culture that country has to offer. I decided to play music by David Versace and Don Glori to represent that time of my life, and give these artists the full recognition that they deserve. Lastly, I wanted to showcase my love for Japanese music, through City Pop icon Anri, and the one and only, maestro, Shuya Okino, who’s had a massive influence on me as a selector and my approach to music as a whole.
