LATEST CALIFORNIA FIRES: The Hughes fire in Castaic near Santa Clarita, Castaic Fire

Fires have broken out in Southern California since New Year's, due to strong Santa Ana wins and little rain and drought for over a year creating dry conditions ripe for wildfires and fire hazards. Fire fighters have been working furiously with air drops, ground crews, and water cannons to put out fires as quickly as possible. Evacuations and emergency management have taken place throughout the month in the Los Angeles area.
