Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" has been on my list of songs to visit for as long as I've been making music on this channel. It's an intimidating lift to re-imagine such an iconic tune, but I hope I've done justice to the memory of the "Man in Black" and maybe opened some new ears to his music. "Ring of Fire" was written by June Carter and Merle Kilgore, and was originally recorded and released by Anita Carter in 1962. Johnny Cash re-recorded the song in 1963. It become a number one hit for him and is one of country music's most iconic songs.
