Temu is a new, insanely low priced online marketplace that is based in Boston, Massachusetts, but is headed by the Chinese corporation PDD Holdings. Though the company is not directly fast fashion-centric, Temu is still very much related to this business type. Temu, amongst several other China-based companies, appears to have largely co-opted retailer Shein’s sketchy business model. Shein, and all of their infinite wisdom, recently sponsored a brand trip for a few naïve influencers. In this video, I explore all the reasons why I believe both businesses should not be championed in the influencer space…or by anyone.
