Michelangelo Galilei (c. 1575 – c. 1631) was an Italian lutenist and composer – and the younger brother of the famous astronomer Galileo Galilei.

🔭 What Did Galileo Galilei Discover? (Brother of Michelangelo Galilei)

Galileo Galilei (1564–1642) was one of the greatest scientists in history. Here are his most important discoveries:
1. Moons of Jupiter – In 1610, he discovered the four largest moons of Jupiter (Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto). This proved that not everything revolves around the Earth.
2. Phases of Venus – He observed that Venus has phases like the Moon – evidence that it orbits the Sun, not the Earth.
3. Laws of Falling Bodies – He disproved Aristotle’s theory by showing that all objects fall at the same speed (in the absence of air resistance).
4. Astronomical Telescope – He improved the telescope and was the first to use it systematically for observing the sky.
5. Sunspots and Moon Craters – He demonstrated that celestial bodies are not perfectly smooth or “pure,” as previously believed.
