
D1 - a series of diesel multiple units, built in 1964-1988 by the Hungarian plant Ganz-MAVAG (Hungarian Ganz-MÁVAG), Budapest, on the instructions of the Ministry of Railways for the railways of the USSR. A total of 605 trains were built. Structurally, D1 was an improved version of diesel trains of the D series and differed from the latter primarily in the presence of a more powerful diesel engine, hydromechanical transmission and composition, increased by one trailer car.
