Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Suit and tie, with a smile and a grin,
Lying through their teeth,
Ain't even afraid to sin.
Promises like candy, but their dupin' us.
Trading lives for money,
it’s a betrayal of trust.

(Pre-Chorus)
Can’t you see the truth? They’re playing us for fools,
Masters of deception, bending all the rules.

(Chorus)
Crooks in power.
And you're to blame.
You let them in.
Now life can't be the same.

(Verse 2)
Sending young men off to fight their wars,
While they sit in their offices,
behind their guarded doors,
Countin' up the dough, while bodies pile high,
Who's got the power.
who's to blaim for letting them inside?

(Pre-Chorus)
Can’t you see the truth? They’re playing us for fools,
Masters of deception, bending all the rules.

(Chorus)
Crooks in power.
And you're to blame.
You let them in.
Now life can't be the same.

(Outro)
Crooks in power.
their time will come.
I'm risin' up, mama.
Turn off the TV.
Cus I'm back.
Cus I'm back.
And I'm takin' them down!
Ahhh!

Cyna Hadum, named for Cerberus of Greek mythology, was an intense and fast paced act to explode out of the wake of the US involvement in the Vietnam War in 1973. Following Tim Watts (Johnny Savage) draft and return from his tour in Vietnam, and the resulting break up of Johnny Savage in 1972, Watts joined Frankie Brannigan and Mitch Conway, two talented British musicians who were craving a heavier and grittier sound to their rock. Cyna Hadum's debut album "American Argos" references the encroaching and watchful eyes of the American government post-Vietnam, its namesake being the many eyed monster of Greek mythology. Watts was believed to be resentful towards the US government upon returning home, particularly politicians, and quickly left the States to begin pushing boundaries with his new bandmates across Europe, before returning home again to record.
