The Akha have made their way to Southeast Asia to find another form of isolation. Living off opium cultivation and trafficking, ignoring borders and laws, and wishing to become Thai in their own way, which the authorities dislike. The Akha are a "nuisance" to all and a danger to the Thai government, which is looking for every means to neutralize them. The Akha cannot acclimatize to the temperatures and diseases of the plains: if they descend, they will die of disease. If they stay on their hill, they will die of isolation. A double death awaits them. We follow the story of a young Akha girl, who officially becomes a woman by following the customary tradition of her village.
