An Indian-origin scientist, Ankur Gupta, has developed a battery technology that can charge phones and laptops in just 1 minute. This technology can fully charge an electric vehicle (EV) in just 10 minutes, a process that typically takes 8-10 hours. How is this possible? Plus, you may have also noticed with today's phone batteries that over time, their performance decreases, their charging time increases, and they start to discharge quickly. This happens because the lithium-ion batteries used in modern smartphones only work properly for about 800-900 charging cycles or simply 1-2 years. After that, their energy storage capacity drastically decreases. However, the battery technology developed by Ankur Gupta and his team is such that it will work just like new even after 100 years of use!

And how did they do it? While working as a scientist and professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, they unraveled the big knot that had been preventing all scientists worldwide for the past 2-3 decades from making a fast-charging battery. Let's find out how?
