Brother Dan provides sounds from around the globe. His devotion to music is spread across several practices that encompass his life. DJing over the past 15 years has driven him to collect emotive and invigorating music that speaks to all walks of life. In 2018 he was named DJ of the Year by the Miami New Times, supporting diverse shows from the Sun Ra Arkestra to Marcellus Pittman. He’s also a musician with a release on Soul Clap Records. Brother Dan is the mind behind Terrestrial Funk, which operates as a record label and online record store. The label’s catalog includes reissues of rare and unreleased Miami boogie from the eighties, Ghanaian legends Pat Thomas & Ebo Taylor, Floridian Disco from the late 70s, a new DMX Krew album, the rebirth of the obscure 1995 rave 12” Airpeople - 7 Deadlies, post-genocide Armenian gems, and an ambient album from marine biologists Coral Morphologic. Brother Dan’s passion for the people’s sound is reflected in all his work.
"I recorded this set at the My Analog Journal studio in London while on my first euro tour earlier this summer. I had a single record bag packed with tons of South African dance cuts from the late eighties and early nineties from a collection I acquired right before the trip. I’m sharing a good portion of the collection and archiving it on our website terrestrialfunk(dot)com "
