The vegetables weren't expensive. Her family had grown them themselves. Obviously, the man was curious what happened to them.
Turns out, there was a fire and her father had evacuated everyone. She's the eldest so she was saved last. Her father had jumped out the window and hit his head. She was rescued last so she got the worst injuries. While her younger siblings are mostly unharmed.
To help reduce the financial burden, they have spent around $130k local currency so far when the average salary is around $3k - $5k local currency per month. So she sat outside selling vegetables. Later, her father appeared wondering who the strange man was talking to his daughter. He sustained some injuries from the fire as well.
The man seeing this decided to buy everything from them and asked if he could visit them for dinner. They agreed. But instead of the couple hundred, the man sent $1k instead. A very generous amount.
There the man learned that the girl has a brutal recovery. She is sometimes caught staring at the mirror and crying even though she appears tough on the outside. Classmates called her monsters for her appearance. But she try not to let it get to her too much. But you can still tell how much it hurts her when the man asked her about the bullying.
Deep down, she's still a little girl. She needs love and support not bullies. Applying the medicine is very painful but she knows it's necessary. Her family promised her that they will do everything in their power to help her recover. But it's likely that she'll have some scars. And a potential permanent disfiguration.
You can see from the pictures that she was a beautiful girl. Still is. Let's hope she stays strong against her bullies and recover fast.
