I first heard this song in the 90s when Pearl Jam covered it. I wasn't old enough to understand its meaning, but I could tell it was trying to say something. Now, in 2025, as we're set to enter a new era, the song's message is still relevant.American politicians are still self-serving and care little for the working class. Billionaires are buying elections and influence. America's still seen as a major source of evil around the world.
Although it's difficult for me to keep hope alive right now, after everything, what other option do any of us have? We have to keep going. We have to push forward believing that tomorrow will be better. For every one.
