I had an idea last night of combining the trigger and frequency modulation input of the Serge Variable Q VCF with the Moog DFAM to create a Buchla bongo style beat, but with more bass drum happening due to the DFAM's emphasis on lower frequencies. Ironically, the Buchla 208c Easel Command isn't doing the classic Buchla bongo sound and is instead holding a pedal point. I added 5 note arpeggios from the Moog Grandmother to give a sense of "not in 4" to the beat, which also contributes to the world music sound of this. I normally do either more straight ahead synthwave, melodic orchestra, or very avant-garde electronic, but sometimes it's fun to just do a good danceable beat!
