The time has finally arrived to teach you my secret Shaolin Moon Way technique! 🌙⚔️
This was about 20 hours of footage from which I extracted the best moments.
The concept for the track was to create multiple sampler instruments full to the brim with samples spanned up the keyboard so that each key plays a different sample.
These included:
Plastic Jam Break
- Original Hits (Processed & Quantised TO 168 BPM)
- Dirty Hits (Saturated)
- Very Dirty Hits (Distorted)
- Mono Reverb Kicks
- Mono Reverb Snares
- Custom Shuffles (Hi-Hat Ghost Snares)
- Drums Rolls & FXs
Soul Investigators Break + extras
Sesame Street Break + extras
FX Sampler Instrument
Kung Fu Hits Sampler Instrument
Percs Sampler Instrument
The sampling & preparation process was easily over 10 hours and the production process was 76 hours just in Renoise alone as I made multiple attempts with the same starting ingredients.
It was a real labour of love and whilst the video probably makes it look easy at certain parts it definitely was not! Perseverance and determination are truly the key ingredients to mastering the moon way technique! 🌙⚔️
A lot of the FX I used were from my Photek pack available on my website.
I also gave the collection of Kung Fu Hits used in this tune to my Patreon’s a while back. Check it out if you're already a member!
