On 23 December 1975, ITN's Peter Fairley tested a new model of breathalyser which was expected to enter police circulation the following year. With the help of the University of Wales' Dr Tom Parry-Jones, three gins, and two glasses of wine, a slurring Fairley demonstrated just how accurate the new technology was.
