As brilliant as it much of the music released on floppy disk prior to this was (check out Jesus on E's by LSD) most of it had been rave music and there was nothing resembling a traditional vocal song with verse and chorus that could fit on a floppy disk.
This release in July 1994 covered 2 great songs by the Ramones with minimal lyrics thus allowing the number and size of the samples to be quite small. The Cyber Punk Rock EP contained 2 complete songs on a single floppy disk.
At the time of its release into the public domain on the Commodore Amiga platform in July 1994 this was truly groundbreaking and the Cyber Punk Rock EPs received glowing reviews in the serious national Amiga magazines. Two years later the Amiga computer itself had become obsolete and the tracker format that had been used to create these EPs had been superseded by mp3 compression.
