
Step 1: Make the Peanut Butter
Most people don't know how easy it is to make additive-free peanut butter at home. Here's what to do:
Gently heat some lightly salted peanuts in a pan to release some of their natural oil. Pour them into a food processor and blend until you've reached your desired creaminess.
Step 2: Prep the Berries
The goal is to keep this sandwich as fresh and natural as possible, so we're reimagining the "jelly".
Choose your favorite fresh berries— I like raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Wash them well and let them fully dry before using.
Step 3: Assemble the Sandwich
Lightly toast your favorite bread and add a generous layer of peanut butter to the bottom and just a little to the top.
Pile on your berries to the bottom half, top with the other slice of bread, and firmly smash them together to release some of those delicious berry juices.
Listen, there is nothing wrong with the classic PB&J that we ate as kids, but this is a great way to get those nostalgic flavors in a reimagined way.
I dare you to try this and not love it.
