In today's video, join me as I explore the delicious world of peanuts! It's been five or six days since my brother 'Baby' started harvesting peanuts, and I've been helping out whenever I can. Freshly harvested peanuts have a milky taste, and we often enjoy them charred with boiled peanuts for breakfast. Fried peanuts with salt in a frying pan have an extraordinary sweet and salty taste.
➡️ I made a special batch of masala peanuts for my brother and father, who love to munch on snacks. Preparing masala peanuts is simple: coat the peanuts with rice flour, gram flour, and spices, then deep fry them with dry chilies and curry leaves. Another favorite is caramelized sweet peanuts. By adding peanuts to caramelized sugar and butter, and spreading the mixture on a pan to cool, you get a heavenly treat.

Even out of season, my uncle 'Somee' brought us seven or eight durians, and I made a delicious durian crepe cake. Mixing durian with cream cheese and whipping cream, I layered it on pancakes and sprinkled peanuts on top. The cake looked like a beautiful girly hat with a curled ribbon.
➡️ The next morning, I plucked some long beans from the garden, leaving some for the parrots, and my mother made a dish of long beans with tempered peanuts. My brother had been asking for Watalappan, a sweet dessert, for weeks. After caramelizing jaggery with spices and coconut milk, I beat the eggs by hand for the perfect texture, added peanuts on top, and steamed it for two to three hours. The result was a super moist, hive-like dessert that tasted heavenly. Embrace nature, be good, do good, and enjoy life. May the Triple Gems bless you!
