Step 1: Fry the Pepperoni
Heat a pan to medium-high, add some oil, and the pepperoni. Fry these, tossing frequently, until they're nice and crispy.
Remove to a plate for later.
Step 2: Cook the Pasta
Salt your water well, and drop your pasta once it comes to a boil. Cook until al dente.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
Add some olive oil and sliced garlic to a pan over low heat and sweat the garlic. Don't let it brown!
After a couple of minutes, add some tomato paste and your favorite sauce— there's nothing wrong with using jarred sauce, okay?
Cook on low heat for about 3 minutes or so.
Step 4: Assemble Your Pasta
Add your pasta and a little pasta water to your saucepan to finish cooking and let the sauce really come together.
Add some crushed pepper flakes and your pepperoni to your pasta and toss everything well before plating.
Serve with a topping of cheese and basil or parsley for one hell of a great dish.
Pasta doesn't need to be fancy to hit the spot. Trust me, your kids are going to love this.
