X Alfonso (Equis) is one of Cuba's most exciting young artists and, by Havana standards, he's a superstar. His music, a mix of hip hop, rumba, funk and rock, is an excellent indication of what Afro-Cuban fusion has come to mean. Cuba Afro-Rock Revoluxion is a musical multi-media exploration of this unique Afro-Cuban blend and its influence on contemporary Cuban culture.

Opening the concert is Osamu, widely recognized as one of Havana's leading rockeros with his hit songs "Chaca-Chaca en la Azotea", "Ven a mi Vida" and his delicious mix of Blues, Alternative Rock, Nueva Trova and Timba. Legendary singer Pedrito Calvo, formerly of Los Van Van, joins Osamu for his signature hits "La Candela", "Sanduguera" and more.

Embark on a journey of discovery with New Frequencies, YBCA's annual summer world music showcase. This year's series is anchored by The Bowls Project, a FREE interactive sound and immersive performance installation in YBCA's sculpture court, featuring music by Jewlia Eisenberg and performed by Charming Hostess, all inside a stunning double-masonry dome by award-winning architect Michael Ramage.
