The structures of your cervical spine degenerate over time as we age and this can cause narrowing of the spinal canal and foramina. This narrowing, or stenosis, can affect different parts of your spine causing foraminal stenosis or central stenosis, sometimes called cervical stenosis or spinal stenosis. This can sometimes cause pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots and generate various symptoms.
