James Patrick Page, born in 1944, is an English guitarist, producer, and songwriter who helped define the sound of rock and roll in the 1960s and 70s. He first played as a session musician in London studios, anonymously contributing to countless recordings. Page then played in the Yardbirds from 1966–1968 before founding the influential hard rock band Led Zeppelin.
