Once again, India is being unfairly singled out for securing its legitimate energy needs. While several other countries continue trading with Russia silently, the U.S. chooses to target India with increased tariffs and threats of secondary sanctions. Trump talks about fairness but acts only when it suits his political agenda — using global trade as a weapon.India is not a weak or dependent nation. We are the world’s largest democracy and we take decisions in our national interest. Our oil imports ensure energy security for 1.4 billion people — not to please or offend any foreign power.
If this is how global partnerships are tested, then India is ready to stand its ground. Bully tactics, unfair pressure, and double standards will not make India bend. We value dignity, sovereignty, and fairness — and we expect the same in return.
