🚘 Last August, my daughter and I packed up all her things into her car and drove 37 hours from California to Michigan. After helping her settle in, I headed back to California, hoping nothing would happen to her living so far away. But just four months later, she was in a serious car accident. The lovely car she had bought while juggling two part-time jobs was gone, and instead of getting a new one, she decided to move right next to the school. We loaded her belongings into the SUV we rented from the Detroit airport, and moving everything meant we made that same trip back and forth on the road more than ten times.
❄️The winter in Michigan was both unfamiliar and absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to enjoy the snowy scenery because moving turned out to be quite exhausting.
☕️The meals my 21-year-old daughter cooked during the hectic unpacking process were wonderful. Even though she’s an adult now, she will always be my little girl, and it’s truly heartwarming to see her in the kitchen.
