Did you know that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers once opened for the iconic band KISS? The show was in Columbus, Georgia on November 30th, 1976 during the KISS Rock and Roll Over Tour. Former Heartbreaker's drummer Stan Lynch recalled, "We're up there trying to do our thing...And all of a sudden the crowd erupts in a fucking frenzy. I'm thinking wow they love us! I turn around and there's this giant KISS sign that had been turned on flashing, KISS. KISS. KISS." Nobody knew who Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were at that point, but one day they would become a household name.
