Higher Stakes, is the 12th release from Assonance and Bane whose partnership spans over 20 years. Higher Stakes, unites soulful jazz of the 70s with the contemporary. Influences not only include Sun Ra, but the masterful J Dilla as well as jazz pianist, Ahmad Jamal. To combine lush keys, harmonising horns and vibrato strings with the E-MU 6400 to create a rich bottom end.
