Russian President Vladimir Putin has tried to justify the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by claiming it's not a real country, despite Kyiv being hundreds of years older than Moscow.

During the war, Russian forces have damaged or looted hundreds of cultural sites in Ukraine, such as museums and libraries, according to a recent United Nations report.
