With affordable cameras every one has become a photographer or filmmaker.

But I wonder, who watches all this stuff?

With one hour of video being loaded every second, I wonder if this is the end of civilisation as we know it. Will the aliens arrive in the future to an empty planet, and think, 'this is where it all ended : information overload!"

I explain why I make videos and question whether I am just adding more noise to the most tedious of television programming, travel shows!

t's funny how we associate a place with movies. For me, I associate Tokyo with 'Lost in Translation' a story I suppose about alienation, loneliness and hope.

Tokyo - the coolest and unfriendliest capital in the world:

And, interestingly enough, as I sit alone in my capsule hotel, my experience of Tokyo has been the same. I have produced travel videos around the world for the last 10 years. The way I do it is find a local person to interview and show me round. For the first time ever, I never met a local person to show me Tokyo.

And I suppose, who cares! I'm just another tourist with another camera!

I find Tokyo a fascinating place, maybe the most fascinating capital in the world. It has such a rich culture. But I suppose as a tourist, with no Japanese language skills and limited time, Tokyo is also like a secret club, where you can only enter if you know the secret password. I didn't find the password, I wandered the streets alone, art intimating life, 'lost in translation' imitating my time in Tokyo.

It's a great shame, I don't bite, I would have been willing to fit in with anyone's Sunday plans. But heh, maybe, as with Sophia Coppola, what I actually captured was the real Tokyo, a place not to welcoming to outsiders.

But I won't give up that easy, I still have the night, who knows what stories I will find!
