People of the Sun are a psychedelic rock band from Aoteroa/New Zealand.bringing a distinctly Aotearoan approach to the genre. Lisurgen is the first single from their upcoming Self-titled debut album (scheduled for release in June 2025).


People of the Sun are:

Joseph Anderson: Guitar/ Lead vocals
Tom Scrase: Drums; percussion; vocals
Djordje Nikolic: Bass; vocals

Bio:

An explosive new trio featuring seasoned NZ musicians Joseph Anderson, Djordje Nikolic and Tom Scrase, People of the Sun draw inspiration from a rich palette of rock, soul, jazz and indigenous music. These disparate elements give rise to a powerful and dynamic new sound that evokes the landscapes of Aotearoa, as well as the shared experience of her people. The band is making waves with their highly-charged live show and have recently recorded their self-titled debut album, mixed by Lee Prebble at The Surgery in Pōneke.
